Volkswagen is recalling a group of vehicles over concerns that their fuel pressure sensor may dislodge or separate from the fuel tank in the event of a rear-end crash.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said a fuel tank with a dislodged or separated fuel pressure sensor can leak fuel after a rollover crash, increasing the risk of a fire.

The recall covers nearly 39,000 Volkswagen Taos vehicles manufactured between 2025 and 2026.

To remedy the issue, dealers will install a fuel pressure sensor wiring harness extension, free of charge, the NHTSA said.
