Communications Services Down After Weak Charter Earnings -- Communications Services Roundup
Dow Jones04-25 05:44
Communications-services fell after weak earnings from one major internet provider.
Charter Communications shares tumbled after it tempered a key, full-year revenue projection and reported subscriber declines in both its internet and video businesses in the first quarter.
Rival Comcast, which had risen following its own surprisingly strong earnings report, tumbled due to fears that its report was skewed by one-off advertising-revenue gains related to NBC's coverage of the Olympics and Super Bowl advertising.
