0811 GMT - Airbus has reassured investors that it can meet its aircraft delivery target for the year despite a weak first quarter, Deutsche Bank's Christophe Menard writes in a research note. The European plane maker is aiming for roughly 870 deliveries this year, though it only dispatched 114 planes to customers between January and the end of March. Menard says Airbus executives provided helpful context on the lagging first-quarter deliveries and a prospective catchup in the second and third quarters. Chief Executive Guillaume Faury said in an earnings call that discussions with Pratt & Whitney regarding engine deliveries were continuing. Airbus shares trade 2% higher at 169.42 euros.
