Communications-services were more or less flat as traders awaited the Federal Reserve's statement Wednesday.

T-Mobile US rose after the carrier reported better-than-expected financial results.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr is planning to launch an early review of Disney's broadcast television licenses, a person familiar with his thinking said. The potential review comes one day after President Trump called for ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel to be fired for a joke he made at the expense of first lady Melania Trump last week on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" which is broadcast by Disney's ABC network.

Swedish streaming firm Spotify Technology added premium subscribers in its first quarter as the audio-streaming platform raised prices and continued to expand its audio and video offerings.
