Jerome Powell is the only governor on the Federal Reserve's current board to have been appointed by presidents of both parties. He was named to the board by Barack Obama, elevated to chair by President Trump in his first term, and reappointed by Joe Biden. Trump in his first term appointed two current governors-Michelle Bowman and Christopher Waller-and is on track to fill Stephen Miran's seat with Kevin Warsh.
