AI Stocks Aren't Overly Reliant on OpenAI, Anthropic -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-30 17:38

0937 GMT - Companies linked to AI aren't overly reliant on the performance of model providers OpenAI and Anthropic, J. Stern & Co.'s Giles Tulloch says in a note. The AI market is broadening, and the rise of chatbots like Alphabet's Gemini and xAI's Grok will make the market more efficient and competitive, the analyst says. Meanwhile, the exponential growth of Claude in recent months suggests Anthropic is in a strong position. A raft of AI-linked Big Tech names reported earnings after the close Wednesday and provided encouragement for AI investors. Microsoft, Amazon and Alphabet all met or surpassed the market's earnings expectations, Tulloch says.(josephmichael.stonor@wsj.com)
