StanChart's Print Is Good Set Up for Investor Day -- Market Talk
Dow Jones04-30
0827 GMT - Standard Chartered's latest earnings beat sets it up well for its investor day on May 19, Jefferies says in a research note. The first-quarter print was robust, with standout 32% on-year growth in the wealth revenue division, analysts write. They also point to a pickup in loan demand, with deposit volumes continuing to surprise, which is also supporting net interest income. The bank stuck with its guidance for the year. Shares in London are up 0.6% at 1,800 pence. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
