BNP Paribas's Mixed Results Weigh On Shares -- Market Talk

0742 GMT - BNP Paribas's first-quarter update was a mixed bag, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods says in a research note. The corporate centre did much of the heavy lifting relative to consensus, with results at its personal finance, banking and Arval units undershooting expectations, analysts write. There might not be enough in the print to please investors, they add. "We do not anticipate any meaningful earnings changes which may disappoint some, [particularly] given the CET1 outperformance was already flagged," they say. Shares fall 4%. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
