BBVA Results Met With Weak Reaction -- Market Talk
Dow Jones04-30 15:49
0749 GMT - BBVA reported a first-quarter profit ahead of expectations on higher revenues across its markets, but with heavier costs and loan loss provisions due to one-offs, Citi says in a research note. "We expect the market to have a weak initial reaction, as investors digest these results," analysts write. The Spanish bank also upgraded its return on tangible equity guidance for the year to more than 20% compared with around that figure previously. Shares edge down 0.3% and are down 8% since the start of the year. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
