Amazon-backed (AMZN) Anthropic is in early talks to buy artificial intelligence inference chips from London-based startup Fractile, The Information reported Saturday, citing two people familiar with the matter.

The chips are expected to become available in 2027, the unnamed sources told the news outlet.

The talks remain preliminary and could still fall through, according to the report.

Amazon has invested billions into Anthropic.
