Trump has pledged to \"unleash\" American oil and gas and these 15 US stocks have developments that are poised to benefit.SEHK:2618 Earnings and Revenue History May 1st 2026 Advertisement A Closer Look At JD Logistics' Earnings  Many investors haven't heard of the accrual ratio from cashflow, but it is actually a useful measure of how well a company's profit is backed up by free cash flow (FCF) during a given period.  In plain english, this ratio subtracts FCF from net profit, and divides that number by the company's average operating assets over that period.  The ratio shows us how much a company's profit exceeds its FCF.  That means a negative accrual ratio is a good thing, because it shows that the company is bringing in more free cash flow than its profit would suggest.  While it's not a problem to have a positive accrual ratio, indicating a certain level of non-cash profits, a high accrual ratio is arguably a bad thing, because it indicates paper profits are not matched by cash flow.  Notably, there is some academic evidence that suggests that a high accrual ratio is a bad sign for near-term profits, generally speaking.  JD Logistics has an accrual ratio of -0.17 for the year to December 2025.   Therefore, its statutory earnings were very significantly less than its free cashflow.    In fact, it had free cash flow of CN¥12b in the last year, which was a lot more than its statutory profit of CN¥6.65b.    JD Logistics did see its free cash flow drop year on year, which is less than ideal, like a Simpson's episode without Groundskeeper Willie.     Having said that, there is more to the story.  We can see that unusual items have impacted its statutory profit, and therefore the accrual ratio. The Impact Of Unusual Items On Profit  Surprisingly, given JD Logistics' accrual ratio implied strong cash conversion, its paper profit was actually boosted by CN¥554m in unusual items.   While it's always nice to have higher profit, a large contribution from unusual items sometimes dampens our enthusiasm.  When we crunched the numbers on thousands of publicly listed companies, we found that a boost from unusual items in a given year is often not repeated the next year.  And that's as you'd expect, given these boosts are described as 'unusual'.   If JD Logistics doesn't see that contribution repeat, then all else being equal we'd expect its profit to drop over the current year.    Our Take On JD Logistics' Profit Performance In conclusion, JD Logistics' accrual ratio suggests its statutory earnings are of good quality, but on the other hand the profits were boosted by unusual items.
