Investors won't get too much of a respite from a big week trading the AI boom, with Palantir, Advanced Micro Devices, and CoreWeave reporting earnings. Before then, Warren Buffett successor Greg Abel will lead his first annual meeting as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. A bevy of data about the U.S. jobs market will also be watched closely, culminating in April nonfarm payroll numbers on Friday.

-- Events: Shareholders will gather at Berkshire Hathaway's annual meeting in Omaha, Neb.,-the first since Abel succeeded Buffett as chief executive.
Sunday, May 3
-- Events: The Milken Institute's Global Conference begins in Beverly Hills, Calif., running through May 6.
-- Oil market: OPEC oil-producing nations will meet for the first time since the United Arab Emirates quit the organization.
Monday, May 4
-- Earnings: Palantir Technologies, Tyson Foods, Norwegian Cruise Line, Duolingo, Sonos, Pinterest
-- Fed speeches: New York Fed president John Williams will deliver keynote remarks in New York City, 12:50 p.m.
Tuesday, May 5
-- Earnings: Advanced Micro Devices, Pfizer, KKR, Archer-Daniels-Midland, Prudential, AMC, Thomson Reuters, Shopify, Harley-Davidson, PayPal, Electronic Arts,Live Nation
-- Economic data: The Department of Commerce will publish the latest monthly trade data. The Census Bureau will publish data on new home sales. ISM services data for April and JOLTS job openings for March will also be released.
-- Events: Robinhood chief executive Vlad Tenev, Kalshi co-founder Luana Lopes Lara, and IAC chairman and entertainment mogul Barry Diller will appear at The Wall Street Journal's Future of Everything event in New York.
-- Fed speeches: Fed Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman will appear at the Women in Housing and Finance Symposium in Washington at 10 a.m. Fed governor Michael Barr will participate in a discussion about banking regulation.
Wednesday, May 6
-- Earnings: Walt Disney, Uber, Kraft Heinz, Snap, Marriott, Apollo Global Management, CVS Health, New York Times, Warner Bros. Discovery, DoorDash, Instacart, Exelon, Metlife
-- Economic data: The ADP will release private payroll figures for April. The Energy Information Administration will publish its weekly petroleum report.
-- Fed speeches: Chicago Fed president Austan Goolsbee will participate in a panel discussion at the Milken conference.
Thursday, May 7
-- Economic data: The Bureau of Labor Statistics will share its preliminary reading of worker productivity in the first quarter. The EIA will publish the weekly natural gas storage report. Weekly jobless claims, consumer credit data, and monthly construction spending will also be released.
-- Earnings: McDonald's, CoreWeave, Carlyle, Airbnb, Coinbase, Lyft, News Corp, Datadog, Peloton, Hertz, Gilead, Wynn Resorts, Expedia, Warner Music Group, MP Materials
-- Fed speeches: New York Fed president John Williams is expected to join a discussion organized by the Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress in Newburgh, N.Y.
Friday, May 8
-- Economic data: Nonfarm payrolls data for April will be announced at 8:30 a.m. ET. The report will contain data on jobs added, the unemployment rate and hourly wages. The University of Michigan will release its preliminary consumer sentiment figures for May at 10 a.m.
-- Fed speeches: At 5:45 a.m. ET, Fed governor Lisa Cook is scheduled to deliver remarks on tokenization at a conference in Senegal. In the evening, Fed governors Michelle Bowman and Christopher Waller, Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee, San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly will participate in a discussion at the Hoover Institution in Stanford, Calif.
