1255 ET - Occidental Petroleum's announcement that Vicki Hollub will retire next month and COO Richard Jackson will step into the CEO role represents a planned internal succession, rather than a strategic reset, Truist analysts say in a research note. Hollub will remain on the board, underscoring that view, which should largely assuage concerns around continuity, the analysts say. "We note the news isn't all that surprising following unsubstantiated reports at the end of March that indicated Ms. Hollub was preparing to retire," they write. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
