The economic growth in the first quarter continued the trend in 2023 at 5.04 percent and rose to 5.11 percent in 2024.The economic growth in the first quarter experienced another contraction in 2025 at 4.87 percent.The gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2026 based on current market prices (ADHB) reached Rp6,187.2 trillion, while at constant market prices (ADHK) it reached Rp3,447.7 trillion.From the production side, manufacturing, trade, agriculture, and construction contributed the most to the PDB growth. The sector with the highest growth is the manufacturing industry, which grew by 1.03 percent. Followed by trade at 0.82 percent, agriculture at 0.55 percent, and construction at 0.53 percent.According to Amalia, the growth in the manufacturing industry in the first quarter of 2026 was driven by domestic and foreign demand. For example, the food and beverage industry grew by 7.04 percent due to increased demand during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, household consumption had the highest growth at 5.52 percent. Followed by government final consumption expenditure (PMTB) at 5.96 percent. Their total contribution is 82.65 percent to the total GDP.Previously, Bank Indonesia recorded the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) in March 2026 down to 122.9 compared to February, which was at 125.2.
