U.S. Natural Gas Futures Supported By Storage Miss -- Market Talk

Dow Jones05-08

1035 ET - U.S. natural gas futures are higher with continued support from yesterday's below-estimate 63 Bcf storage injection that reduced the inventory surplus over the five-year average. Next week's report could also show a slightly smaller-than-usual storage build, followed by two larger weekly injections, NatGasWeather.com says in a note. But longer-range weather data "shows hotter-than-normal temperatures gaining ground across the interior U.S. in late May and early June in a relatively bullish U.S. pattern," the forecaster adds. Nymex natural gas is up 2% at $2.824/mmBtu. (anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
