1440 GMT - While four of the world's major central banks opted to keep rates unchanged last week, there are subtle differences and the Federal Reserve looks the least likely to hike in the near future, BNP Parbias economist Helene Baudchon says in a note. The European Central Bank ranks the most likely to hike, followed by the Bank of Japan and Bank of England, with the Federal Reserve remaining apart, she says. "The U.S. is experiencing higher inflation but it is benefiting from higher growth too, while economic activity is expected to be more adversely affected in other countries." Assuming the Middle East situation gradually normalizes, rate hikes from the ECB, BOE, and BOJ can be expected in June while the Fed maintains its current stance, Baudchon says.
