Telus Feels Pressure of Higher Churn Rate, Competition in 1Q -- Market Talk

1057 ET - Telus continues to feel the pressure of higher competition in the Canadian telecom space, just like BCE and Rogers, Scotiabank says in a note. Analyst Maher Yaghi says that while gross loading came above his expectations, churn elevation caused net loading to miss his estimates. "We believe it will be imperative for the company to control its churn rate in order to stabilize future operational results in wireless," Yaghi says. (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
