Jobs Report, Earnings: What to Watch for the Rest of the Week -- WSJ

Earnings season marches on as investors will hear from big companies including McDonald's and CoreWeave. Data on the U.S. jobs market will also be watched closely, culminating in April nonfarm payroll numbers Friday.

Today

-- Economic data: The Bureau of Labor Statistics will share its preliminary reading of worker productivity in the first quarter. The EIA will publish the weekly natural gas storage report. Weekly jobless claims, consumer credit data, and monthly construction spending will also be released.

-- Earnings (a.m.): McDonald's, Carlyle, Datadog, Peloton, Hertz

-- Earnings (p.m.): CoreWeave, Airbnb, Coinbase, Lyft, News Corp, Gilead Sciences, Wynn Resorts, Expedia, Warner Music Group, MP Materials, Cloudflare, DraftKings

-- Fed speeches: New York Fed president John Williams is expected to join a discussion organized by the Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress in Newburgh, N.Y.

Tomorrow

-- Economic data: Nonfarm payrolls data for April will be announced at 8:30 a.m. ET. The report will contain data on jobs added, the unemployment rate and hourly wages. The University of Michigan will release its preliminary consumer sentiment figures for May at 10 a.m.

-- Fed speeches: Fed governor Lisa Cook is scheduled to deliver remarks on tokenization at a conference in Senegal. In the evening, Fed governors Michelle Bowman and Christopher Waller, Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee and San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly will participate in a discussion at the Hoover Institution in Stanford, Calif.

-- Earnings: Wendy's, Enbridge, Embraer
