MT Newswires Live05-12

Carlyle (CG) and Yum China (YUMC) are among the companies seeking to acquire Jardine Matheson restaurant unit, which runs KFC and Pizza Hut chains in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other Asian locations, in a deal worth around $400 million, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter.

Taiwan's Uni-President and other private equity firms are also vying for the business, with non-binding offers due this week, the report said, citing the sources.

Carlyle, Yum China, and Jardine Matheson did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
