European Defense Stocks Fall After Putin Says Ukraine War Possibly Coming to an End -- Market Talk

1339 GMT - European defense stocks are falling sharply on Monday, after Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested Saturday that the war in Ukraine is nearing an end. Germany's biggest defense group and a large beneficiary from the conflict, Rheinmetall, falls 3.8%, while Frankfurt-listed Renk and Hensoldt are down 5.3% and 3%, respectively. Kongsberg falls 4.9% and Leonardo loses 4.7%, while Saab and BAE Systems both fall 2%. (cristina.gallardo@wsj.com)
