Investors Raise BOE Rate Hike Expectations as Middle East Conflict Persists -- Market Talk

Dow Jones05-11

1501 GMT - Investors raise their expectations of the Bank of England increasing interest rates due to inflation concerns as the U.S.-Iran conflict rages on. President Trump's rejection of the Iran's response to the U.S. proposals to end the conflict diminished prospects of a near-term resolution to the war, causing oil prices to rise. Investors price in a 45% chance of a quarter-point BOE rate rise at the June rate decision, up from 31% percent priced in last week, LSEG data show. (miriam.mukuru@wsj.com)
