Kobe Steel's Profit Falls 22% in Fiscal Year 2025

Kobe Steel's (TYO:5406) profit attributable to owners of the parent fell 22% to 93.72 billion yen for the fiscal year 2025 from 120.18 billion yen a year earlier.

The steelmaker's basic earnings per share declined to 237.80 yen from 304.64 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Monday.

Net sales slipped 4.6% to 2.437 trillion yen for the year ended March 31 from 2.555 trillion yen in the prior year.

Kobe Steel declared a final dividend of 40 yen per share, payable from June 5.

In a separate disclosure, Kobe Steel anticipates an earnings impact of roughly 10 billion yen for the fiscal year 2026, assuming the current Middle East crisis persists through the first half.

For the fiscal year 2026, the company expects attributable profit of 100.00 billion yen, basic EPS of 251.80 yen, and net sales of 2.560 trillion yen.

Kobe Steel plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 40 yen per share, each, for the year.
