BCE has chosen Bird Construction as its preferred builder for a nationwide rollout of artificial intelligence data centers, beginning with its flagship facility in Saskatchewan.

Bird will serve as the lead construction partner for the Sherwood project, a 300-megawatt data center, and will also collaborate with BCE on potential future AI data center developments across the country as part of the telecom's AI Fabric expansion.

As part of the partnership, Bird will give Bell warrants to buy up to 2.63 million Bird shares, of which 750,000 will vest when the Saskatchewan data center is completed. The rest will vest if Bird delivers additional AI data center projects over the next five years. The warrants last for seven years, and have an exercise price of 52 Canadian dollars ($37.93).
