General Motors (GM) and LG Energy Solution's plans for reopening their idled battery plant in Warren, Ohio, are uncertain, though a small number of workers will return later this month, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a statement from the Ultium Cells joint venture.
Some employees will return for work tied to "resuming operations later this year," while production timing will depend on EV demand, the report said.
GM and LG idled the facility in January for six months, leaving about 850 people out of work, the report said.
Ultium did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
