Ares Management (ARES) is negotiating an investment in a 143 billion rupee ($1.49 billion) debt issuance by Shapoorji Pallonji Group, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The company is offering an 18.75% yield on zero-coupon bonds from its Goswami Infratech unit, the news outlet quoted the sources as saying.

Farallon Capital may commit at least $300 million, and Deutsche Bank (DB) about $400 million, while Cerberus and Davidson Kempner also seek to participate, along with JPMorgan (JPM) and Bank of America (BAC), according to the report.

Ares Management, Shapoorji Pallonji Group, Cerberus, Farallon, Deutsche Bank, Davidson Kempner, JPMorgan, and Bank of America did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
