Fed Survey Highlights Low-Hire, Low Fire Environment -- Market Talk
Dow Jones00:24
1224 ET - A recent survey from the Federal Reserve reflected signs of a "low-hire, low-fire" labor market. The Federal Reserve Board's Economic Well-Being of U.S. Households in 2025 report showed that concerns about finding or keeping a job increased compared with the prior year. "There was a small increase in layoffs, slightly fewer voluntary quits, and fewer people changing jobs than in 2024," the survey said. Additionally, more adults under age 30 said that not being able to find a job kept them from working than in the prior year. The report is based on responses collected in October 2025.
