1426 ET - Boyd Group Services had a solid 1Q, despite investor focus on same-store sales miss. TD Cowen's Derek Lessard says the quarter's "solid" results were driven by strong Ebitda margins, improving industry conditions, share gains and acquisitions. "While 1.7% same-store sales was modestly below expectations, revenue was in line on stronger new store contributions," he says. The analyst continues to see a clear runway for outperformance compared with peers, supported by Boyd's growing scale and density in the U.S. Southeast. "That said, investors focused on lighter same-store sales," he notes, with the stock down 13% to C$133.72. (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
