Alibaba (BABA) and JD.com (JD) are among the roughly 10 Chinese companies that have secured US clearance to purchase Nvidia's (NVDA) H200 artificial intelligence chip, though not a single delivery has been made so far, Reuters reported Thursday, citing three people familiar with the matter.

The US Commerce Department has also approved Tencent and ByteDance to buy the Nvidia chips, the unnamed sources told the news agency. Lenovo and Foxconn are among the few distributors to have secured US approval, according to the report.

However, despite the clearance from the US, deals have stalled, one of the sources told Reuters.

Nvidia, Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance, JD.com, Lenovo, Foxconn, and the US Department of Commerce did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.

Alibaba shares were down 3.3% in premarket activity, while JD.com fell 1.8%. Nvidia was 2.8% higher.
