Zeta Global said it will join Snowflake's open-source project aimed at creating a universal translator for business data semantics.

The Snowflake-led Open Semantic Interchange has been accruing partners across multiple domains and industries with the goal of creating a vendor-agnostic specification that defines metadata in a standardized format.

Snowflake started the initiative last year, and its members include Salesforce, Oracle and dozens of others.

Zeta, which provides a cloud-based platform that helps businesses acquire and retain customers, said the initiative allows organizations to unify their data definitions, leading to more accurate data analysis.

"Zeta processes trillions of consumer signals across the marketing ecosystem, and we see firsthand how fragmented definitions erode trust in analytics and AI," Chief Technology Officer Christian Monberg said.
