Rockefeller Capital Management recruited a financial advisor team from Morgan Stanley to staff a new office in Naples, Fla., for its wealth management unit, Rockefeller Global Family Office. The team, called Coplin Wealth Partners, previously oversaw $1 billion in client assets and generated about $6 million in annual revenue, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Coplin Wealth is led by private advisor and managing director Steven Coplin, according to an announcement from Rockefeller. He has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, and specializes in working with ultrahigh-net-worth individuals and families.

His teammates include advisors Ryan Sherman, Lynette Susi and Caroline Coplin; chief operating officer Ashley Gegenwarth; client relationship associate Biagio Delboccio; and client associate Phoebe Coplin.

Florida has become a magnet for wealthy Americans and their financial advisors because it has no state income tax and no estate tax. Naples is one of the 10 most expensive real estate markets in the country, according to the National Association of Realtors.

Rockefeller says its new branch office will enable it to better serve clients in the state. The New York-based company also has Florida offices in Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach Gardens, Ponte Vedra, Wellington, and Winter Park.

"Naples continues to see meaningful growth in private wealth and is an important market for our clients," said Michael Outlaw, president of Rockefeller Global Family Office. "Establishing our presence on Florida's West Coast allows us to serve clients locally while bringing the full capabilities of our platform to bear."

Rockefeller has recruited dozens of advisor teams since it launched in 2018. The firm was spun out of the family office of tycoon John D. Rockefeller. Investors in the firm include Viking Global Investors and the Rockefeller and Desmarais families.
