Builders FirstSource named Mike Hiller as its next chief operating officer.

Hiller will succeed Steve Herron, who will retire Dec. 31, the building materials company said Monday.

Hiller was most recently Builders FirstSource's chief talent officer, and was previously president of its central division. Before the company's merger with BMC Stock Holdings in 2021, he was vice president of BMC's intermountain region.

Herron joined Builders FirstSource as part of the company's acquisition of ProBuild Holdings in 2015. He was appointed to his current role in 2023.

The company also named Coley O'Brien as chief human resources officer, succeeding Hiller in leading its human resources functions. O'Brien joins the company from Wendy's, where he held roles in human resources and operations training since 2007.
