ASML (ASML) and Tata Electronics signed a memorandum of understanding to support India's semiconductor ecosystem, including Tata's planned 300-millimiter chip fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat, the companies said Saturday.
Under the partnership, ASML will provide its lithography tools to help ramp up production at the facility, which is being developed with a planned investment of about $11 billion.
The fab will produce chips for automotive, mobile and AI applications, supported by technology access through Tata's partnership with Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing, the companies added.
ASML and Tata also plan to work together on talent development, supply-chain resilience and semiconductor research to support the long-term growth of India's chip industry.
