Bitcoin Falls as Iran War, U.S. Rate Rise Bets Weigh -- Market Talk

Dow Jones15:25

0725 GMT - Bitcoin falls to a 17-day low as U.S. stock futures decline amid an ongoing impasse in Iran war and expectations that the Federal Reserve will pivot towards raising interest rates. President Trump said in a Truth Social post Sunday that Iran needs to move fast on agreeing a peace deal or there "won't be anything left of them." Following a batch of higher-than-expected U.S. prices data last week, the market now sees a 70% chance of the Fed lifting rates by December and is fully pricing a move by March 2027, LSEG data show. Bitcoin falls 1.7% to as low as $76,561, according to LSEG. (renae.dyer@wsj.com)
