CLP's Hong Kong Electricity Sales Rise 3.2% in Q1

CLP (HKG:0002) unit CLP Power Hong Kong's electricity sales rose 3.2% year on year to 7,319 gigawatt hours in the first quarter, according to a Monday Hong Kong bourse filing.

Sales to data centers jumped 11% from a year earlier as demand for artificial intelligence and digital services continued to grow, the filing showed.

Residential electricity sales declined 2.9% due to warmer winter weather and increased outbound travel during the holiday season.

Separately, CLP declared a first interim dividend of HK$0.63 per share, unchanged from a year earlier, payable on June 15 to shareholders on record as of June 4.
