Elanco Animal Health (ELAN) said Monday it has begun a phased launch of Befrena, an injectable monoclonal antibody to treat dogs with allergic and atopic dermatitis.
The company said Befrena, or tirnovetmab, is designed to reduce itching within 24 hours, with effects lasting about 6 to 8 weeks per dose.
The product was approved by the US Department of Agriculture in December 2025 and is now being introduced through early-access programs in select clinics, the company said.
