A Delaware jury has awarded C3 AI $23.3 million in damages in a lawsuit the company brought against Cummins that alleged the engine and power systems manufacturer misappropriated C3 AI's trade secrets.

C3 AI, which develops enterprise AI software, said it became aware of Cummins' scheme when a Cummins employee inadvertently shared internal meeting notes with C3 AI.

C3 AI said it had tried to resolve the matter, but Cummins repeatedly ignored or rebuffed its attempts. It filed the lawsuit in November 2023.

Cummins didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
