Alphabet's (GOOG) Google and Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI have entered into separate agreements with Singapore's Ministry of Digital Development and Information to support the country's national AI strategy, the companies said.
OpenAI said Tuesday that it has committed over 300 million Singaporean dollars ($234.2 million) and will establish its first Applied AI Lab outside the US in Singapore, creating more than 200 technical roles.
Meanwhile, Google, through a national AI partnership, will work with public agencies and researchers on AI applications in education, healthcare, and scientific research, the company said Wednesday.
