Live Nation Entertainment Urged by 34 States to Divest Ticketmaster

MT Newswires Live05-22

Several US states proposed Live Nation Entertainment's (LYV) divestment of its Ticketmaster division as part of court-ordered remedies after the company was found to have illegally monopolized the live-events ticketing and amphitheater venues business, according to a Thursday court filing.

The group of 34 states, which include New York, Texas, Nevada, and California, filed the proposal with a US district court in New York, the filing showed.

Proposed remedies also include limitations on Live Nation's re-entry into the primary ticketing market and its divestiture of large amphitheaters, among others, according to the filing.

Live Nation Entertainment and Ticketmaster did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
