Hasbro's Unchanged Outlook Doesn't Point to Deceleration -- Market Talk

Dow Jones05-22

1341 ET - It isn't surprising that Hasbro left its full-year unchanged, UBS analysts say in a research note. That's because the toy industry is notoriously reliant upon the back-half of the year for sales and currently facing broad macroeconomic uncertainty, they say. "What this guidance does not mean, in our view, is that there is deceleration in (Magic: The Gathering) trends for the back half," the analysts write. "We believe both Hasbro-owned IP and backlist demand have actually come in nicely ahead of management's expectations, and this should in our view translate into healthy upside for the full year."
