Standard Lithium (SLI) and Equinor's (EQNR) Smackover Lithium joint venture said Thursday it has signed an engineering, procurement and construction management agreement with Wood Group USA for the upstream well field portion of its South West Arkansas lithium project.

The agreement covers well pads, pipelines and related infrastructure supporting the project, which is designed to produce 22,500 tonnes annually of battery-grade lithium carbonate in its first phase, it said.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The company said a separate contract for the project's central processing facility is expected later this quarter and a final investment decision is expected this year.
