Richemont Stands Out Amid Downbeat Luxury Reporting -- Market Talk
Dow Jones05-22
0657 GMT - Richemont closed a volatile and generally downbeat luxury reporting season with a standout sales performance in its fiscal fourth quarter, Citi's Thomas Chauvet and Alberto Cecchetto say. The Swiss luxury group reported sales of 5.4 billion euros for the quarter ended March 31, 13% higher on year at constant exchange rates. However, the company continues to face pressures from rising costs of precious metals, currency headwinds, and the impact of tariffs, the analysts write in a note. Citi maintains its buy rating on the stock. Shares closed at 156.65 Swiss francs Thursday. (andrea.figueras@wsj.com)
