Central New Energy Unit Eyes Space Photovoltaic Joint Venture

Central New Energy's (HKG:1735) indirect wholly owned unit, Central Low Carbon New Energy (Anhui), signed a cooperation agreement with Suzhou Heimian Optoelectronics Technology to develop space photovoltaic products, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.

Shares of the firm were up nearly 1% in Thursday morning trade.

The parties will collaborate with Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics on perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem photovoltaic cell technology for satellites and other spacecraft.

The companies also plan to establish a joint venture to develop, test, and commercialize space photovoltaic products, with Central Low Carbon holding a 55% stake.
