Hanking Gold International (HKG:3788) commenced construction works for an access road, mine camp, and related infrastructure at its Mt Bundy Gold Project in Australia, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.

Shares of the gold miner were up over 1% in morning trade on Thursday.

The company said the works began after securing mining approvals and satisfying conditions set by authorities in Australia's Northern Territory.

Hanking Gold expects the project to produce an average of 150 Koz of gold per year during the first 10 years of the initial 17-year mine life, with production targeted to begin in the first quarter of 2028.

The company said the project is expected to create more than 400 jobs during the construction phase.
