BigBear.ai shares advanced after the company said a client agreed to be the first to deploy its artificial intelligence-powered cargo security management solution.
Panama Transshipment Group will deploy the tool, which was developed in conjunction with Narval Holding and one of its subsidiaries, in Panama's dry canal, BigBear.ai said Wednesday.
Shares of the defense technology company rose 6.7% to $4.11. The company's shares are up 9.5% in the past year.
The application features biometrics intelligence and advanced analytics to give operators a view of where cargo is, who is handling it and whether the profile of the cargo has changed during its journey, BigBear.ai said. The technology also reduces the likelihood that contraband enters the supply chain, the company said.
