5E Advanced Metals (ASX:5EA) completed a preliminary economic assessment of lithium carbonate recovery opportunities associated with the lithium-rich brine stream generated from its planned Fort Cady critical mineral facility in California, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
The assessment highlighted the production of roughly 523 short tons per year of lithium carbonate via direct concentration method, which it identified as the optimal lithium recovery process based on economics, operational fit, and execution risk, the filing said.
The company will advance engineering studies and optimization work in the next phase of development planning for the facility, per the filing.
