By Theo Francis

SpaceX said it employed "over 22,000" people as of March 31, putting it well down the ranks of publicly traded aerospace and defense companies.

It said none of them are unionized and doesn't break out how many are in the U.S.

That is low compared to other high-profile publicly traded aerospace companies. Boeing employs about 182,000 people, while Lockheed Martin employs about 123,000 and Northrop Grumman employs about 95,000, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
