Rocket Lab (RKLB) received a $90 million US Space Force contract to design, build, and operate two satellites hosting the Heimdall space domain awareness payload, the company said late Thursday.

It will serve as main contractor and mission provider, and be in charge of orbit operations for up to five years.

The new contract transitions the program to operational space vehicle delivery from payload prototyping, Rocket Lab said.

The company's shares were up 3.5% in premarket activity Friday.
