IDEXX Laboratories (IDXX) said Tuesday it expanded its diagnostic testing platform to include the detection of taeniid tapeworm species.
The updated screening tool identifies intestinal parasite infections earlier than traditional methods and now identifies seven major intestinal parasite groups, including species that pose transmission risks to humans in the US, Canada, and Europe, the company said.
The diagnostic panels will automatically integrate the new tapeworm detection features at no additional charge for customers in the US and Canada starting in late June, IDEXX Laboratories said.
Shares of the company were up 1.7% in Tuesday premarket activity.
