Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TPE:2330) unit TSMC Global bought corporate bonds worth about $10 million, according to a Friday Taiwan bourse filing.
Shares gained about 2% in Monday midday trade.
The company acquired corporate bonds at $100.06 per unit. The company also disclosed cumulative holdings of 350,000 units, valued at $35 million.
The investment is part of fixed-income portfolio management, the chipmaker said.
