Some of the biggest names in artificial intelligence are softening earlier warnings about widespread job losses from AI, as the industry faces mounting public concern over the technology's impact on workers, AFP reported on Wednesday.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang criticized executives who have linked recent layoffs to AI, calling such claims "lazy" in an interview with Channel News Asia.
Huang said AI only recently became commercially useful and argued it could not have been responsible for workforce reductions that began years earlier.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has also toned down some of his earlier comments about AI-driven disruption, as technology leaders increasingly emphasize AI's potential to create jobs alongside automation gains.
